Our Mission – More Than Just a Moving Company
At Muddy Waters Moving, our mission goes beyond excellent moving services.
We are committed to
supporting vulnerable people in Winnipeg and addressing the city’s homelessness crisis.
This mission is deeply personal.
Our founder is a certified Health Care Aide and a passionate advocate for people with disabilities, seniors, individuals facing homelessness, and those dealing with mental health or addiction challenges.
The Purple Lotus Commons – Our Nonprofit Initiative
We are proud to introduce The Purple Lotus Commons Company Inc., a nonprofit second-hand thrift store located at 1344 Main St., Winnipeg.
Our goal is to purchase a home to create affordable, staffed co-op housing that provides:
- Health & wellness supports
- Life-skills training
- Transportation
- Employment opportunities (moving company & thrift store)
- Meal planning & budgeting support
- Crisis and safety services
- Education and personal development
- Help accessing benefits and completing forms
- Community support, peer connection, and guidance
Business partner, Neil Spence, brings decades of experience from Health Sciences Centre with a background in addictions, psychiatry, and mental health—knowledge that helps shape our vision of meaningful, people-centered support.
This initiative exists because we believe everyone deserves dignity, support, and a place to call home.
Donations will be accepted soon at:

Items we can’t accept will be donated to Centre Flavie, who share our mission of helping vulnerable communities.
